Personalised bedtime stories for children aged three to ten

A story world made around your child.

Twice a week, your child returns to familiar characters in stories shaped around their age, interests and what is on their mind.

The idea underneath

A child can meet something familiar in someone else’s story, close enough to connect with, but far enough away not to feel put on the spot.

What it is

Two stories a week, written for your child.

Two bedtime stories arrive by email each week, written around your child’s age, interests and what is on their mind.

They return to a familiar character and a continuing world, close enough to recognise something of themselves, while still remaining someone else’s story.

There is no child-facing app and nothing to prepare. You simply read it together.

Some evenings it starts a conversation. Some evenings they ask for tomorrow's chapter. Both count.

Tonight's email

A story for them, and a note for you.

This one's a sample. Yours will have a character and a world made just for your child.

Tailored beyond their favourite things

Stories shaped around what your child is living through.

Their age and interests make the world feel like theirs. What you have noticed gives the stories a deeper direction.

Each concern follows a framework created by Sia, so the stories can approach it gently over time, through different adventures, not by repeatedly retelling the problem.

Stories can be shaped around
  • Fear of the dark
  • Not wanting to talk about their day
  • Starting school
  • A new sibling
  • Friendship difficulties
  • Overwhelming feelings
  • Growing confidence
  • Changes at home
  • Or simply what they love
Their own world to return to

Every story becomes part of the next one

A familiar companion and a growing world, shaped around your child from the very first story.

  • A companion chosen for them

Your child’s interests help shape the companion they meet and the world their stories begin in.

  • Someone they already know

The same companion returns each week. Familiarity makes each new adventure easier to enter, and easier to feel part of.

  • A world that grows with them

New places, characters and challenges appear as the stories continue, while familiar details make the world feel like their own.

Why I made Maple Moon

Children don’t always need to be asked. Sometimes they need a story.

As a psychotherapist and mother, I have seen how children approach feelings through play, imagination and characters long before they can explain those feelings directly.

I created Maple Moon so a child could meet something familiar in someone else’s adventure, close enough to connect with, but never so close that they become the subject of the story.

I built the worlds, characters and principles behind every story, along with the short note that helps parents understand what the story is holding.

Questions

Answered plainly.

Is the first story really free?

Yes. There is no card and nothing starts automatically. We write the first story for your child and send it by email.

What happens after the first story?

Nothing unless you choose to continue. If you do, two new stories arrive each week for $9 a month. You can cancel whenever you like.

Do I have to choose a plan now?

No. Start with the free story. You decide whether and how to continue only after you have read it.

Are there longer options?

Yes. Once you have read the first story, you can continue month to month or choose a six-month story season. Both include the same tailored stories and parent notes.

What if I have more than one child?

Start with the child receiving the first story. Family options can be shown later if you want separate stories for additional children.

How personalised are the stories, really?

Each story is written for your child specifically: their age sets the length and register, their interests colour the details, and the concern you chose shapes what the story quietly works on. Their companion and world stay with them from story to story.

How are the stories written?

Every story is built on research in child psychology, on a framework designed by a psychotherapist. Each one takes on a small piece of the concern you chose, and the way their companion meets it deepens over time, story by story, as the series unfolds. Stories are made to order for your child and held to the standard of a small literary press.

What ages does it suit?

Ages 3 to 10. Younger children get shorter, simpler stories to be read aloud. From about age 8 the stories are written so children can read them on their own, if bedtime reading has grown up too.

Can I change what the stories focus on?

Anytime. Choosing a new concern begins a fresh journey: a new companion, a new world, new stories. The old world is set aside rather than continued.

What if my child moves on?

That's fine. You can pause the stories, change what they're about, or stop them altogether. Their world and companion stay just as they were, if your child ever wants to come back.

What if a story misses the mark?

Tell us. You can adjust what we know about your child anytime, and anything on your leave-out list never appears in any story. We read every message sent to hello@maplemoonpress.com.

Is my child's information safe?

Yes. What you share is used to write their stories and for nothing else. We never share or sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Can I stop the stories?

Yes. From your family's page you can pause the stories, or stop them altogether, any time. Everything already scheduled still arrives, and nothing more is charged.

Their first story can begin tonight.

Tell us a little about your child. There is no card, and nothing starts automatically.

Continue afterward only if it feels right for your family.
