When something feels different

For the nights you sense something is on their mind.

A change at school. A friend who has gone quiet. A move, a new sibling, a goodbye. Maple Moon stories meet these moments gently - not by naming them, but by sitting beside them in story form.

Often you can see it in your child's behaviour long before they can put it into words. You want to help, but you do not always know how to start the conversation.

The good news is you do not need the perfect words. A story can open the door.

What is Maple Moon Press?

What is Maple Moon Press?

Maple Moon creates personalised story journeys built around your child's interests and the experiences they are working through right now. Stories unfold over time with familiar characters and recurring places, becoming a small inner world your child can return to.

Every chapter is paired with a Parent Note that helps you carry the conversation forward naturally after the story ends.

The story is for your child. The note is for you.

Together they make bedtime a small daily moment of connection.

FROM YOUR FIRST STORY

The Small Knight and the Dark

On a night when the world had gone quiet, Eli closed his eyes and waited for the dark to settle around him. It came in slowly, the way a cat comes into a room. Soft on its feet. Sure of itself.

He listened. The house breathed. Somewhere far off, an owl asked its one question, twice.

Eli did not know it yet, but the dark had been waiting for him too.

PARENT NOTE · CHAPTER 1

The night the lantern would not light

Tonight's chapter sits quietly with the feeling of trying hard and still not getting it right. You may notice your child going still in the part where the lantern keeps flickering out.

A question, if the moment feels right:

Was there anything today that felt a bit like the lantern, something you really wanted to work?

If they shrug or change the subject, that is fine. Some nights the story is the whole conversation.

Every chapter arrives with both. The story is for your child. The note is for you.

ABOUT ANASTASIA

I am Anastasia, a psychodynamic psychotherapist in private practice, a mother of two, and the creator of Maple Moon Press.

Maple Moon grew from a simple observation in my clinical work: children often find it easier to talk about difficult experiences through a story than through a direct question. A story gives them distance, and distance is what makes hard feelings approachable.

My work draws on attachment theory and contemporary child development research. The stories you receive are written through that lens, but they do not feel clinical or instructive. They are stories first.
